
Gerry Rice was born in Oak Park, Illinois and grew up in Berwyn and Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Wright Jr. College with an Associate Degree in Business Administration. She then attended the Chicago School of Dental Nursing and became a certified dental hygienist for the Veteran’s Administration. She is also a certified health care assistant and for a time assisted home bound Alzheimers patients. She has training as both a certified administrative assistant and then went on to become a certified legal secretary. Gerry has worked in many different professions. She was an admissions clerk at Oak Park Hospital in Illinois. Upon moving to Salt Lake City, she worked for several years for the Central Intelligence Agency. She has also done medical transcription work both OB/GYN and ENT specialists in both hospitals and doctor’s offices in Salt Lake City, Utah. She then became an administrative assistant/executive secretary for Intermountain Health Care.
Gerry traded medicine for law when she became a legal assistant at a Salt Lake law firm, Cohne, Rappaport & Segal, responsible for assisting in screening potential new clients for both employment and family law attorneys. She joined Strindberg & Scholnick in March 2002 in the same capacity, but she quickly became an invaluable part of our team. She is presently responsible for all new client screening and scheduling in addition to all secretarial and paralegal duties for the firm.
Gerry has 2 children and 4 grandchildren. She practices yoga daily. She also likes to read and ice skate. She used to show Malamutes at dog shows. She got tired of raising such big dogs, so now she has a chihuahua named Sir Charles of Ashlin (Charlie). Gerry has volunteered her time as a classroom aid at Head Start and as an English teacher for non-English speaking adults at the Guadalupe School.
